Talking About the Chamber

“The Guilderland Chamber serves an integral asset to the Guilderland Community by providing resources, training and networking opportunities.  A prime example of this partnership has provided support for the Summer Reading Club, an effort important to families with children in the district. Through outreach events like Ladies Night Out, the library has enhanced its visibility. The library uses the annual chamber directory and map as a venue to place ads that specifically target residents of Guilderland, a project that is very cost effective.

Chamber membership encourages economic well-being through cooperative efforts to enhance the overall quality of life for those who live and work in Guilderland.”
– Margaret Garrett, Assistant Director, Guilderland Public Library

“The Guilderland Chamber has provided me with an opportunity to play an active role in our community. The opportunity has allowed me to build relationships with town officials and employees, local businesses owners, and with many, many people who work and live in our community.”
– Steve Wacksman, CDTA

“NAI Platform has been an active member with the Guilderland Chamber for over 5 years. During this time our company has benefited from numerous direct business leads and appreciate the real estate transactions that have been created at various Chamber functions and events. We continue to enjoy the relationships we have built with the small business folks that make up the fabric of the Chamber and look forward to continued growth in the years to come.”
– Cory Tyksinski. NAI Platform

“The Town of Guilderland has been proud to partner with the Guilderland Chamber and the Guilderland business community.  Each year, the Town gives special recognition to area businesses for their efforts to improve their organizations at the Chamber’s annual dinner.  The Town supports the Chamber’s mission of supporting our local businesses and the Guilderland community, while promoting Guilderland as a great place to live, work and play.”
– Ken Runion, Guilderland Town Supervisor

Talking About Our First Friday Business Breakfasts

“I was pleased to learn some newer trends and tips about social media that I didn’t know; I think Rebecca obviously knew her material and she was a great choice for a speaker. It was also a good venue for face to face networking; which is vastly underrated these days!”
– Kathy Burbank, Community Caregivers

“I found the hour long presentation eye opening to a new world of reaching prospective and current clients. I can see myself incorporating ideas presented by Rebecca.”
– Pierce Mahar, Education Funding Specialists, Inc.

“This was one of the most compelling First Friday events I have attended. Ms. Murtaugh was full of useful information and stayed on point throughout her presentation. My assistant, who handles our social media, learned a lot from it too.”
– Kim Spiak, Best Western Sovereign Hotel

“As small business owners we cannot afford to have specialty department employees for marketing/advertising/business development. The recent First Friday GCC program covered exactly those three topics with a “brainstorming” session. The results of that program (even with a relatively small group) enabled the participants to glean ideas at a nominal cost. At the very minimum a program of this nature  provides motivation and critical thinking methods for the small business owner. The round-table discussion showed that  “networking” is not only a method to educate customers about your product/service but also evidenced the benefit of sharing our ideas and discussing  commonalities of doing business including problem solving.
– Ralph Sommers, Sommers & Magilton Tax and Business Services

Talking About Our After Hours Business Mixers

“Attending the Mixer was a great experience.  We met a lot of new people and made new friends.  This is a great way to network with new people around the area.”
– Diana Granda, Geovanny Marble & Granite

“I thought it was a great event. There were a decent number of attendees and we had obtained a couple prospect leads out of it. The food and service was excellent as well!”
– Tracy Agustin – 1st National Bank of Scotia
