Rascals Raises $4,500 for Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region

Rascals, a unique combination of a steakhouse and a live music venue, drew a crowd for their special Holiday Open House the evening of Friday, December 9. The event doubled as an introduction of the new restaurant in Crossgates Mall and a benefit for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region (RMHC). Half of all the proceeds from the ticket sales, which ranged between $40 and $60 were donated to the non-profit to assist in its mission of serving critically ill children and their families.

Guests enjoyed food and drink specials along with live performances from Skeeter Creek and headliner Adam Wakefield, runner-up on Season 10 of NBC’s “The Voice.” Wakefield also spent time with VIP guests during a meet and greet session. Through ticket sales and donations, the event raised $4,500 for RHMC.

Preceding the open house event, Rascals welcomed Ronald McDonald House Charities President Jeff Yule, Mary Rozak, director of communications for Albany County Executive Dan McCoy, and representatives from the Capital Region and Guilderland Chambers of Commerce for a cake cutting ceremony to celebrate the official opening of the restaurant.

“The team at Rascals wanted to find a way to give back to the local community this holiday season while we celebrated our official grand opening,” said Linda Lama, owner, Rascals. “Charities that support children are especially dear to us. As soon as we were introduced to the Ronald McDonald House Charities, they were a natural fit to include in our holiday open house and we look forward to supporting their charity again in the future.”
