Per the American Academy of Dermatology, currently one in five adult Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime. In addition, melanoma rates have been increasing for at least 30 years and it is predicted that by 2015, one in 50 Americans will develop melanoma, the most serious form of skin cancer. Come listen to Dr. Robert Shoss M.D. from Albany Dermatology talk about strategies we can take to protect the skin and reduce the risk of developing this sometimes deadly and often disfiguring disease. 12 - The Guilderland Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner, at Mallozzis Clubhouse at Western Turnpike Golf Course. The event will include a cocktail hour beginning at 5:30pm, dinner, then a keynote presentation by nationally-known business consultant Judi Clements entitled "Even if You're on the Right Track, You'll Get Run Over if You Just Sit There!" to follow. Chamber Business and Town Beautification awards will be handed out by the Chamber Board, Town Supervisor Runion, and Altamont Mayor Gaughan.
