Now through July 9-The Guilderland Chamber of Commerce is teaming up with WROW and the Colonie Chamber of Commerce to help local entrepreneurs start or grow their business. With the help of sponsors, participants will have the chance to win over $7,500 worth of products and services to help build their business. WROW staff members will announce the winners July 9. Sponsors include AFSCO Fence services, Liberteks, Logos, Verizon and We the People. AFSCO will provide services worth approximately $1000; Liberteks will provide small business technology to secure network servers; Logos will provide large print formatting, graphic design time, and marketing and design consultation; Verizon will provide a free year’s service of FiOS data; We the People will provide $1000 worth of document preparation services. 13 – Colonie-Guilderland Rotary Club will be having there 4th Annual Par Tournament & 100,000 Shootout at the Whispering Pines G.C. Rotterdam, NY. It is $75.00 per golfer and there will be prizes for top 3 finishing foursomes. There is sponsorship registration and the deadline is May 31st.
16 - The New York Capital Region Apartment Association and Liza’s Legacy Foundation will be hosting their first annual golf tournament at Colonie Golf and Country Club, Rte. 85 Voorheesville, NY. 1 pm.
18- Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of Northeastern New York is forming the Coalition of Young Professionals which will help serve to support the mission of JDRF while helping to broaden the network of opportunities for philanthropic support. Mary Ellen Johnson President of the Historical Society, announces that Alice Begley, Town Historian, will be at the Historical Society’s open house at Minders Frederick House Rt 146, Guilderland Center signing her book “From the Historian’s Desk” a collection of articles from her writings. 23 -This year’s summer reading club at the Guilderland Public Library will surely drive you buggy! We are gearing up for lots of fun programs in July and August. Expect to find performers, book discussions, make it take it crafts, storytimes, family programs and more. You must register at the Library for this program; registration begins Monday, June 23 at 10 am.
27 - Guilderland Chamber of Commerce and the Red Cross are once again sponsoring a Blood Drive at Guilderland Town Hall. 1:30-6:30 pm. Save a life, give blood! Call 456-6611 to schedule an appt. 28 – Rockyo’s Pizzeria and Guilderland Chamber staff will be having a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony at 3pm!! A portion of the proceeds at the Grand opening will go to charity. Rockyo’s will also be offering a $5, 8 cut pizza on this day. Guilderland Chamber of Commerce will be raffling off some great gifts at the event. 13 - The Guilderland YMCA is holding its 8th Annual Pine Bush Triathlon, and we are in need of volunteers! Help is needed in sports transition areas, water stations and helping the police departments control traffic on the bike and run routes.
